A Magazine visited one of its fabulous boutique owners last week — Suzie Pruitt of Ely Road Boutique. Shortly after our interview last fall, she reached out to tell us some exciting news: she’d be opening her own brick and mortar store!

We couldn’t wait to meet back up and checkout the new space.

Located quaintly beside Akron’s Urban Eats, Musica and BLU Jazz,  Ely Road thrives during the weekend’s nightlife. Offering unique, hand-picked quality garments at an affordable price; Suzie says each unique individual that comes in manages to find a piece that speaks to them.

We asked Suzie what is different about selling her clothing in stores versus online. She said she really enjoys building personal relationships with her customers. Suzie has created an inviting atmosphere that makes the customers want to come back, especially after wearing the quality pieces they’ve chosen.

“It’s fun that you are connecting with people through fashion and that you’re creating relationships through fashion,”  Suzie says.

Suzie was telling us about a few special purchases she remembers, a lady who works at an eye doctors office bought her “Crazy Eyes Skirt” and was very excited about it.

“It’s as if each piece was meant to go home with each person that buys it,” Suzie says. “Each little piece is an art piece that fits and clicks with each person, and each piece tells a story.”

The clothing at the boutique is great in quality and trendy —  Suzie even wears it herself.

You can get her trendy look for spring in stores now by purchasing the Dia De Los Muertos Tank Top, Steel Magnolias Fringe Kimono and pair it with Billy Idol Slightly Destroyed Denim pants. Accessorize with the Tribal Horn Necklace Set. An outfit total of only $110.00. The garments are available in a wide range of sizes.

Keep in touch with us here at A, especially if you need a little styling advice. Suzie is getting more involved with Akron and will be offering styling classes at the Akron Art Museum on Mondays starting mid-March.

We had a great time visiting Ely Road boutique and loved the atmosphere. We hope you will find your perfect piece!
