Every decade has a fashion revival, and now it’s time for the early 2000s. The iconic Y2K aesthetic, inspired by the late ’90s and early 2000s, is making a comeback. Funky sunglasses, bold patterns, crop tops, mini skirts and handbags are trademarks of this era.

Women ruled the early 2000s, these iconic trends are inspired by celebrities like Paris Hilton, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and even characters such as the Bratz dolls have inspired some of the most popular trends today.

The early 2000s saw its fair share of tragic red carpet outfits, but nonetheless, these iconic statement pieces were the blueprint for a new age of Y2K fashion.

Y2K fashion was heavily influenced by the new age of technology. The style incorporates futuristic elements while tying in the retro aesthetic of the ’90s. With the introduction of new technology, fashion trends were inspired by new possibilities.

The new age of Y2K fashion is getting a fresh spin from modern day celebrities such as Rico Nasty, Saweetie and Olivia Rodrigo. Their current styles are heavily influenced by early 2000s trends, but they are modernizing the aesthetic to bring fashion forward.
