Add some color to life

There is a general consensus that February is the most dismal month of the year. It’s freezing cold, constantly gray and right smack in the middle of winter with little end in sight.

Through all the dreariness is the opportunity to add some color to your life. One way to do this is grabbing a bouquet of flowers for yourself next time you’re at the grocery store. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but it turns out they have some other benefits as well.

According to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a study showed that when patients in hospitals had flowers next to their beds they were less anxious and tired, had lower blood pressure and needed less pain medication than patients that had no flowers.

Lavender can help you relax, while roses can be used as an anti-inflammatory and even treat coughs and colds. Chamomile soothes headaches, anxiety and aids sleep as well.

Leafy plants can also stimulate creativity, lightly colored flowers can calm and bold colored ones can energize.
Don’t hesitate to treat yourself to a bouquet. After all, it’s for your health!
