Prominent First Lady fashion trends through time
First Ladies of the United States aren’t always looked at for their fashion but rather, their professionalism. Here at A we took a look over time and compared styles from prominent first ladies.
Jackie Kennedy
It’s obvious the 60s had fabulous fashion trends. Jackie Kennedy was known for looking professional through, of course, her pillbox hats. The pillbox hat is known for it’s round shape with upright sides, a flat top and no brim.
Nancy Reagan
Red is a color Nancy wore a lot. It’s simple, classy and patriotic. Her double-breasted red suit is a fashion trend people still remember today.
Hillary Clinton
Although Hillary’s style hasn’t changed much, it’s still trendy and simple. In 1997 Hillary rocked a pink trench coat and a pink outfit underneath — in the words of Elle Woods, “Whoever said orange is the new pink is seriously disturbed.”
Michelle Obama
Michelle is known for her modern, adventurous and fashionable outfits. From tribal pattern to lace, she’s done it all during her time at The White House. One outfit that A considers unique is this metallic colorful dress. Vibrant, but not overpowering. Only Michelle can pull off a metallic coat with pops of color. You go girl!
