Fortunately, the semester is over halfway done, which means it is time to prepare for the madness that entails with the end of the semester. Final projects are being introduced and before we know it, final study guides will be distributed. So, here is a list to make the end of the semester craziness slightly more organized and enjoyable.
- Pre-plan your outfits: It may feel lame, but putting some thought into an outfit the night prior will make you look a little more put together and your morning run smoother. It could also make you more productive by freeing up time in the morning. If you feel like being an overachiever, plan a week’s worth of outfits on Sunday night.
- Eat away from your desk: It’s an easy trap to fall into thinking it will be super productive to study while eating a meal. Most study plans say to take frequent breaks. So eating away from the books will act as a will deserved, extended break. It gives you a good excuse to see your friends and get a little bit of relaxation time. If your major is more project based, walking away for a meal will give you fresh eyes and improve your chances of catching errors in your work.
- Make “me” time: It may feel impossible to find time to do the things you truly enjoy, especially when it feels like you have more work needing done than hours in a day. “Me” time doesn’t need to consume all or even most of your day, just try to set aside a few minutes to do something you love. Even if it’s only five minutes a day, you’ll feel a lot happier and refreshed.
“I have a giant monthly planner and I would die without, and when I get super stressed I just put my headphones in and relax,” said Angela Esposito, a sophomore nursing major.
For some staying organized is the best way to deal with the end of the semester madness. While others need to do something to relax to stay sane when school gets demanding.
“I take a half an hour break or nap and it helps me when I’m starting to get stressed,” said Maura McGough, a sophomore communication studies major.
Just a few more weeks and our summer plans will be underway. So take a deep breath, keep up the hard work and before you know it, this semester will be behind you.
