Modista is hosting a benefit event Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in Rockwell Auditorium. The event, Code Red: Class With Edge, is a styling competition where students will present three styled looks using the color red to a professional panel of industry judges for a chance to win prizes.
Modista is using the ticket sales to benefit the American Heart Association. The student organization held a similar event last year that featured urban streetwear. Modista expanded on this year’s event by adding a mixer beforehand, live DJ and partnership with the Epsilon Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Modista collaborated with the Deltas on this project because the chapter’s services offer healthy lifestyles for its members and the communities it serves.
“The Deltas have partnered with the American Heart Association before, so they’re helping Modista grow a connection with the organization to make the event more personal, “ says Stacy Hovest, the social media coordinator for Modista.
VIP tickets are available, allowing guests access to the mixer, priority seating and refreshments. The VIP guests also get professional photos taken at 6 p.m. before the show starts.
Modista’s Code Red is open to the public with the purchase of a general admissions ticket for $7 and VIP for $10. Tickets are available at modistagroup.yapsody.com.
