annual fashion show in person for first year since covid-19
The Kent State Annual Fashion Show takes place in Rockwell Hall on April 28-30. The show on April 28 starts at 7 p.m. and the awards show on April 29 starts at 6 p.m. The show on April 30 is a VIP show for fashion industry officials and faculty. Tickets for the April 28 show are $35 and $55 for the April 29 show. There’s a total of 99 looks that will walk the runway, with over 60 models and about 40 designers.
This year is the first year since the pandemic that the fashion show has returned to its in-person glory, but an online live stream will be available for people not in attendance. The live stream will be posted to the School of Fashion’s YouTube channel on May 1 at 7 p.m.
This year’s fashion show is the first in-person show since 2019, so everyone, including senior co-producer Joanna Georges, is excited to share what they’ve been working on with students, staff and members of the fashion community.
“I’m most excited for everyone to just see the show in its entirety and in its form,” said Georges, a fashion merchandising and entrepreneurship dual major. “I really want everybody to experience the actual fashion show field, models walking on the runway, and the finale and that whole entire experience.”
Georges explains that the show has been a lot of work to put together, and she’s proud of her team and very excited for people to see it. Tickets are selling quickly, but there’s still time to purchase them on The School of Fashion Website.
