rocking halloween on a budget
October is everyone’s favorite time of the year because Halloween becomes all month long. Many people use their creativity to express themselves through costumes more than they do in their everyday style. For this season of Halloween costumes, what used to be categorized as “basic” is becoming “iconic” with no gender roles. Not only that, but people on social media are bringing awareness to viewers that resourcefulness is an easy solution to your Halloween costumes if you’re on a budget or struggling with creativity.
There are more costume inspirations being posted via TikTok, Pinterest and Instagram Reels helping viewers realize that with a quick and easy upcycle, they can be whatever they want just by putting a creative and resourceful twist on the clothes they already have in their closets. Costumes such as a cat, angel, fairy, witch or vampire are often easier to throw together with minimal shopping compared to buying from a Halloween costume store or even online shops that are out of your budget or simply not your style.
Even movie characters like Carrie, Patrick Bateman, Jessica Rabbit, Wanda Maximoff, Betty Boop and Ghostface are now trending and making a comeback this season with attached look books on “how to’s.” Although this option has always been there, having inspiration or confidence from multiple strangers on the internet, gaining millions of views to fit into your algorithm is always helpful. Now you can have multiple Halloween costumes on a budget and still be the icon you wanted to be!
