As the trees bud and the flowers bloom, people begin to prepare for summer. Whether this be spring cleaning or starting a wellness journey, people focus more on their overall well-being in the spring.
To help aid in their journeys, they turn to wellness products and supplements like Bloom or probiotics like Coconut Cult. While these products have been proven to help people and have been heavily promoted on social media, consumers have started looking for even simpler options.
Lemme is a brand created to offer a line of vitamins and supplements that are easy to incorporate into one’s everyday life. The company’s CEO and founder, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, began working on Lemme five years ago.
Kardashian Barker met with scientists and doctors to create the perfect gummy vitamins and supplements. The website claims that the gummies are so delicious that consumers will have a hard time believing they are good for them. The question is: Are they good for us, or are they a placebo?
Lemme offers a wide range of wellness products. The most talked-about products are the Lemme Purr, Lemme Sleep, Lemme Debloat, Lemme Tone, and Lemme Grow. All of these products are sold in gummy form, except for Lemme Grow, which is sold in capsule form.
Each product listed retails for $30 on the Lemme website. For $30, consumers get 30 gummies or capsules. It is recommended that consumers take two gummies or capsules daily for the best results.
On TikTok, creators have shared mixed opinions on whether or not these products work. Many creators have spoken out about the Lemme Purr gummies, calling them a “scam” or “a waste.” However, some creators have shared that these gummies helped them achieve the results they were hoping for.
The Lemme Purr gummies are a vaginal probiotic supplement marketed to support vaginal health. They claim to balance pH levels and combat odor. Doctors have shared their opinions on this specific product saying that women do not need to take supplements for vaginal health because their bodies naturally do it.
Julia Liddle, a sophomore fashion merchandising student at Kent State, takes the Lemme Purr gummies. She has been taking those along with Lemme Debloat for a little over a year.
“I honestly do think that they work,” said Liddle. “So do my friends. They have tried the ones that I take and some of the other products. I really don’t think it’s a placebo.”
Liddle combines the Lemme Debloat product with Coconut Cult, a super-live probiotic yogurt. She feels that the products complement each other and make her feel her best.
Despite mixed reviews, Lemme is being advertised constantly. All over social media, Lemme ads are being promoted. With all of my skepticism, I decided the only way I would be able to figure out if they would help would be to try them myself.
The Lemme product I tried is Lemme Debloat. These gummies are supposed to reduce bloating and help strengthen gut health. They also claim to aid in digestion and improve immunity.
I have recently been struggling with bloating and healing my gut microbiome, and figured these gummies could help me. After three weeks of consistently taking the gummies in the morning, I decided they were not helping.
For three weeks, I had seen no real progress or improvement. Everything I was struggling with had remained constant. My bloating did not decrease, and my overall gut health seemed to be at a plateau.
I saw more progress from natural solutions, such as drinking kefir and regularly eating kiwi, than I did from the magical gummies being advertised on social media.
After my experiment, I was still curious to find out if Lemme products have helped anyone else. I posted a story on Instagram inquiring about my followers’ experience with Lemme. I had several people contact me wanting to share their stories.
Diana Starr is a psychology major at Youngstown State University. She takes the Lemme Curb soft-chews and has seen a difference.
“They’re supposed to help you not crave sweets,” said Starr. “I have noticed a difference, but it could be a placebo.”
Once Starr started taking Lemme Curb, she stopped continually craving sweets. She now craves them only on occasion.
Tanvi Patel, a sophomore fashion merchandising major at Kent State, takes the Lemme Sleep gummies to help her have a more productive sleep.
“They taste really good,” said Patel. “I’ve noticed that over time the effect wears off—but if I use them for specific times, they do work.”
Despite Patel’s use of the Lemme Sleep gummies, she prefers taking regular melatonin to aid her sleep. She believes that melatonin works better than the Lemme alternative.
After conducting my own research, hearing people’s stories and reading about the Lemme products, I have concluded that while they may be worth it for some, they were not worth it for me. Though some have noticed a difference and feel that Lemme has been a boost in their wellness journey, I did not have a similar experience.
My journey of trying Lemme products taught me to trust my gut (literally) and to form my own opinions on popular products. Despite all of the mixed reviews on the brand, had I not tried it for myself, I would have never known if it was worth it for me. I now know my answer, now it’s time for you to find yours.
