Zendaya Coleman, popularly known by her first name, Zendaya, has established herself as one of the most prominent style icons of today’s generation. Despite only being 27, she has proven to be one of today’s biggest style icons. Her fame skyrocketed after being cast as the lead role in HBO’s hit series, “Euphoria,” followed by several highly acclaimed films. From press tours to red-carpet events and street style, Zendaya’s fashion choices have been nothing short of revolutionary.
Recently, Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, created a stir in the fashion world by dressing her in a silver suit of armor, which turned out to be an archival piece by Manfred Thierry Mugler from 1995. The garment beautifully accentuated her silhouette without any imperfections, which is truly impressive. Law Roach continues to style Zendaya in archival pieces including the 1999 Givenchy set which consisted of a dark gray wool jacket embellished with a red laser-cut electric circuit, paired with the matching skirt. Both outfits are perfect for promoting her new film, “Dune: Part Two,” which is set in a futuristic universe with different technology and landscapes. She has worked with stylist Law Roach since she was just 14 years old. Since then, the pair have worked together to showcase fashion-forward pieces. Law Roach recently retired from styling last year but continues to work with Zendaya. The pair have a strong bond when it comes to fashion, which has been going strong for almost a decade.
Zendaya’s fashion choices have always been bold and experimental. Her first major appearance on a red carpet was at the 2018 Met Gala, themed “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Zendaya arrived in a modern interpretation of Joan of Arc by Versace. The outfit had chainmail covering her body, resembling armor, and a flowing train in the back. She even made it to Vogue’s best-dressed list alongside A-list celebrities like Rihanna, Blake Lively and Katy Perry. A recent announcement named Zendaya as one of the co-chairs at this year’s Met Gala, themed “Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fashion.”
Her recent press tour for “Dune: Part Two” was no different, as she left everyone awestruck with several breathtaking looks. One of the most notable looks was a two-piece gold set by Louis Vuitton. In April 2023, she was named Louis Vuitton’s new ambassador, which is a testament to her impact on the fashion world.
