There is something so eye-catching about the perfect jewelry stack. I don’t mean a simple chain necklace or a couple of bracelets, but rather when the jewelry becomes a prominent element of the outfit. For a while, we lived by the phrase “less is more,” but as maximalism is on the rise and people everywhere are trying to figure out their personal style, the fact is more is actually more

People adorn themselves in all kinds of jewelry depending on their metal preferences or how they like to dress, but what sets certain stacks apart from others is the customization element. Celebrities are rocking jewelry stacks, like Victoria Paris with her vintage Celine letter chain, which may lead us to believe an accessory of such grandeur is unattainable. However, there are dupes, but the actual necklace she is wearing retails for around $2,000. Yet, with a rise in DIYs and shopping small, people everywhere are figuring out their own ways to customize their jewelry stack.

It started with videos going viral on TikTok of small shops you can go to and make your own charm necklaces, at shops like Brooklyn Charm and Bead Craft. Although, if you do not live in New York or LA you do not have access to these places, so many creators have taken matters into their own hands at their local craft stores. Places like Michaels and JOANN Fabric and Crafts have a plethora of supplies for you to create a personalized charm necklace or bracelet.

Another affordable option is Etsy. Not only is it accessible to people in many different price ranges, but it also allows you to support small businesses. Recently I purchased my own paperclip chain and carabiner from an Etsy shop called Ezrasbox. I then purchased my charms from multiple other shops to piece together a custom bracelet that emulates my style and interests. I chose a scorpion, an evil eye, the Star of David, an Italian horn and a hot pink match stick. All of these pieces symbolize different parts of my life which makes it a special addition to any outfit, and I created this customized piece for less than $60.

Adding these personal touches to your jewelry collection not only elevates your style but adds something more unique and personal to your look. You can create a one-of-a-kind piece that no one can replicate, which curates an air of exclusivity to your look, without a huge price tag.
